Visiting this website

We use ChatGPT Sites, provided by OpenAI Ireland Ltd., to host and operate this website. Technical connection and usage information, such as IP addresses, request times, requested pages and device or browser information, may be processed to deliver the website, maintain it and protect it against misuse. Our legitimate interest in a reliable, secure website is the legal basis under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

OpenAI processes hosted personal data on our behalf under its applicable data processing terms and uses infrastructure providers, including Cloudflare. Processing is not restricted to Germany or the EU. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, the applicable OpenAI terms provide for adequacy decisions or EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Joining the RAED newsletter

We process your first name and email address to send you RAED emails about missions, collaborations and ways to take part, and to address you personally. Both fields are required in this form. Joining is voluntary.

When you submit the form, your details and newsletter consent are sent directly to Brevo. We use Brevo GmbH, Köpenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany, for subscription management, confirmation emails and delivery. Brevo processes contact details, consent information and technical delivery records on our behalf. These can include IP addresses, timestamps and delivery or bounce information. Brevo uses sub-processors; processing outside the EEA may occur subject to the safeguards described in its data processing agreement. Your subscription starts after you confirm your email through the double-opt-in link. Newsletter delivery is based on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw consent at any time through the unsubscribe link in our newsletters or by emailing robin@raed.life. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Email engagement and consent records

We do not use individual email-open or click histories to assess applicants or create interest scores. Our launch configuration does not collect a separate tracking opt-in: contacts without tracking consent are excluded from individual open and click tracking. Brevo may still insert pixels and redirect links in confirmation emails for aggregate technical statistics; anonymisation does not remove every pixel. We do not use these statistics to evaluate applicants or personalise offers. Delivery, confirmation, unsubscribe and abuse-prevention records remain necessary to operate the newsletter.

We document sign-up and confirmation to demonstrate consent. These limited records are kept where needed to comply with legal accountability duties or establish, exercise or defend claims, under Articles 6(1)(c) or 6(1)(f) GDPR as applicable. They are separate from permission to send marketing.

How long we keep information

We keep active subscription details while you remain subscribed. After withdrawal, newsletter delivery stops. We retain only information needed to record your withdrawal, avoid renewed unwanted delivery, meet legal duties or resolve a claim; we review whether it is still needed. Technical service records are retained only as necessary for delivery, security, troubleshooting and the provider’s contractual or legal duties. Longer retention may be necessary where a dispute or statutory obligation applies.

Contacting us

When you email us, we process your contact details and message to respond. For steps taken at your request before a contract or to perform a contract, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Other correspondence is processed under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for our legitimate interest in answering enquiries. We use Google Workspace for business email and necessary document storage. We keep correspondence while needed to deal with your request or fulfil legal retention duties.

Cookies, integrations and AI

Our page code adds no advertising pixels or social-media embeds. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics as described below. Technical processing by hosting and delivery services is described above. The sign-up form sends data directly to Brevo when submitted; it does not load an embedded Brevo form. Newsletter contact details are not automatically sent to ChatGPT or copied into Google Drive. Our planned AI analysis of feedback uses information only after effective anonymisation.

Website analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, provided by Cloudflare, Inc., to understand visits, page views, referral sources and website performance. A JavaScript beacon loads from static.cloudflareinsights.com and sends usage and performance information to Cloudflare. Your browser connects to Cloudflare when loading the beacon and sending these measurements.

Cloudflare describes this service as privacy-first and states that it does not collect or use visitors’ personal data or track individuals across customers’ websites. We use the aggregated reports to improve the website, not to identify newsletter subscribers or evaluate mission applicants. Your rights

Subject to the legal conditions, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability. You can withdraw consent at any time. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation, and object to direct marketing at any time.

Email robin@raed.life to exercise your rights. You can also complain to a supervisory authority, including the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg.
